Another perfect example of the less is more ideology. The Fujifilm Finepix X100 features a fixed 23mm focal length lens and handsome magnesium alloy chassis. Don’t mistake this for a retro inspired point-and-shoot, the X100 is simple but squarely targeted at the advanced user. The rear end features a 2.8″ LCD screen, which is large enough for capturing 720p HD videos. A nice leather case and weekend road trip please. Retail $1,000 estimate (Spring 2011)
“FUJIFILM has selected this fixed focal length lens for the FinePix X100 because this configuration consistently delivers premier image quality in every way; from exceptional resolution and minimal aberration, to excellent light volume in image corners.”

If you have a friend that constantly lags, this might be a solution to figure out if he/she even left home yet. Google Latitude offers real time mobile tracking of friends after they accept your invitation. As with all technology, it has its pros and cons in relation to privacy. Fortunately Google Latitude can be disabled by users when they want to be off the grid. My favorite feature is you can leave a note, so when people see you on their map they’ll see your note. For example, “Shooting hoops here til 2pm, who wants to play HORSE?”

Let the Google TV device war begin! The Revue lets you tap into Google TV to surf the web, download apps, and view digital media. Now you don’t have to watch those illegally downloaded movies on your desktop monitor. A keyboard is included for easy typing and browsing on your HDTV. A new lineup of HDTV’s featuring Google TV built-in are hitting the market, but for people with an old plasma this is a great option. Can’t believe plasmas are considered old school now, remember when those old Sony Wegas were popular? They were also damn heavy to move. Retail $299.99 (add the Logitech TV Cam to video chat in HD, $149.99)
