New iPod Nano With Multi-Touch

The Nano has always been a favorite among fitness fanatics, and with the new upgrades it's an even better tool.  Apple has incorporated multi-touch on the 1.5" display, FM radio, 24 hours of audio playback, and a useful clip previously found only on the Shuffle.  The rotating display is ideal for viewing what's playing when you have it clipped on your shorts or armband.  My first generation Nano kept digging into my love handles whenever I tried to flip it upside down to see the display.  Retail $149-179 (available in a 8GB and 16GB model)

Gmail Undo Send Feature

"I hate you", "I quit", and "I slept with your wife" are email subjects we have all sent based on impulsive decisions or misinformation.  Google Labs has an "Undo Send" feature that provides a 30 second window where you can cancel a sent email.  Basically a Tivo 30 second rewind for real life.

To enable 'Undo Send':

1. Log in to Gmail and go to Google Labs. If you've never gone to Labs before, click the word "more" in the very top left corner, then scroll down and click "even more."

2. In the column on the right, click "Labs." It's next to the icon of a beaker filled with green stuff.

3. Click "Gmail Labs" in the column on the right.

4. Scroll down almost all the way to the bottom until you see "Undo Send." Click "enable" and the feature is now on. Then scroll the rest of the way down and look in the bottom left corner for the "Save Changes" box. Click it.

5. Now, go back to the main Gmail page and click "Settings" in the top right. You should also see your green Labs beaker icon there now -- this will let you go straight to Labs from now on.

6. Scroll down to "Undo Send" -- it should be right above "My Picture." Your default should be set to 10 seconds. But you can use the drop-down bar to stretch that to 30 seconds.

7. Scroll down and hit "Save Changes."

8. To undo an email, just look for the box at the top of the screen that will have the words "Your message has been sent." After that, you should see the "Undo" option. Click that and you'll be sent back to the e-mail's draft form, where you'll have 30 seconds to edit or delete it before it goes out.

LaCie XtremeKey USB Drive

Last September we featured the LaCie iamKey as a fresh portable store option.  Well the R&D engineers at LaCie have out done themselves this time with the XtremeKey.  Even if you run covert ops as your daily grind, the XtremeKey will keep your classified data safe and sound.  I've definitely been watching too much Burn Notice.  Retail $49.99 for 8GB model

"LaCie, originator of the flat, award-winning key-shaped USB flash drives, shields the XtremKey’s premium flash memory modules inside a 2mm metal pipe casing. Sealed with wear-resistant screw threads and a rubber O-ring, it is watertight up to 100 meters. The LaCie XtremKey is also resistant to 5-meter drops, fierce heat and bitter cold – it holds up in any environment, no matter where you take it (+200°C / -50°).  XtremKey is constructed with zamac, a metal alloy composed of zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper that’s so strong, it can withstand the pressure of a 10-ton truck. Less than three inches tall, this flash memory drive puts strength, security and storage right on your keyring."
