Handlebar basket, genius

handlebarbasket

Brilliant idea from Goodmorning Technology, which eliminates the risk of your wicker basket getting stolen.  The build quality looks bombproof and would be a great addition to your city streets bike.  They also have another model which looks more fluid on a fixie.  I wonder how strong it’d be for doubling friends…

Giro Livestrong Ionos helmet

lanceionos

For you two wheeled speed freaks, this is Lance’s helmet as worn in the 2009 Tour de France.  Giro calls it the most technologically advanced helmet they’ve ever created.  The Ionos has 21 vents and “an intricate network of internal exhaust ports” to keep your dome cool and still protected.  Remember the old school Jammer helmets?  Those had two vents and cracked when you accidently dropped it from your handlebars.  Truly amazing what technology and the right mix of materials can accomplish.  Keep in mind this is your brain that’s being protected, invest in the best.  MSRP $230

Bear Grylls’ Knife of Choice

Regardless of the YouTube videos (click here) mocking the creative camera work on the hit show “Man vs Wild,”  Bear Grylls is a beast and I’d want him on my team if i was stranded in the wilderness.  Turns out the knife he always uses on the show is made by Bayleyknife, and not SOG which is used by US Navy Seals.  Of course master craftsmanship quality comes with a hefty price tag, try $605.
