Kaenon Kanvas Polarized

Steve Rosenberg worked as a marketing executive with Oakley for seven years before forming Kaenon in 2001.  Since then, Kaenon has grown into an optical powerhouse most recognized for their patented SR-91 polarized lens.  "SR-91 is the only polarized lens that offers razor-sharp clarity, impact-protection, superior scratch-resistance and glare-reduction all in one ultra-lightweight lens."  If you think it's hype, check out their growing roster of sponsored athletes which includes Danica Patrick (Auto Racing), Robert Allenby (PGA Tour) and Julia Mancuso (Olympic Gold Medalist Skier).  Retail $169

Timbuk2 Classic Messenger 2010

After 20-years of R&D on city streets and backcountry roads, the new Classic Messenger is a worthy upgrade.  My favorite feature is the "Napoleon" side entry pocket, which is great for stashing some extra cash, camera or iPod.  When it's raining hard the last thing you want to do is open the main flap where your laptop and documents are, which is why a side entry pocket is useful.  Retail $70-110 (depending on size... that's what she said <-- sorry, couldn't resist)

  • Durable ballistic nylon exterior, waterproof TPU liner
  • Improved Velcro placement along the top of the messenger flap and sides of the front panel makes reckless and uptight opening and closing equally effective. Also helps reduce the much-hated pilling of sweaters caused by unwanted Velcro contact.
  • New memory-adjust True Fit cam buckle eliminates daily fit adjustments. Just unclick the cam, put the bag over your shoulder, and lock the cam back in for a perfect fit every time.

Library Desk

Ditch the hutch and pick up a Library Desk. The slanted built-in shelf is a great way to display books you frequently use within reach. This would have been nice to have in college, although the crossbar would have been a nightmare for my shins. Retail $898

If you haven't heard by now, Ken Block (DC Shoes co-founder and professional rally driver) jumped ship from Subaru to Ford last October.  While there won't be any new Subaru/Gymkhana videos, expect new madness from Ken and his Ford Fiesta in the near future (preview video below).
