If you’re a fan of Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory on MTV, you’ve probably seen the sidehack in action.  Basically it’s a three-wheeled chariot and bmx hybrid, made popular in the 1970s.  Helmets are definitely required because once you hop on, stupidity cannot be stopped.  Retail $TBD, sold through Walmart

James Bowthorpe is a beast

james

“Incidents included an attempted mugging in Iran, severe stomach problems resulting from a snack at Calcutta airport, a collision with a wombat in Australia that catapulted him off the bike and a mid-summer crossing of one of the USA’s hottest regions.”

- Lara Dunn, writer for bikeradar.com

For 174 days, James Bowthorpe averaged 100-miles per day riding around the world to set a new Guiness World Record.  Total distance covered was 18,000-miles through 20 countries.  The crazy 32-year-old Brit did it all in the name of raising money for the “What’s Driving Parkinsons?” charity.  Even Lance Armstrong gave a shot out to Bowthorpe through Twitter, “Twitterati, check out Globecycle.  James is riding around the world (yes, the planet Earth) to raise funds to fight Parkinson’s. Noble man.”  Total amount raised for the charity, approximately $95,000.  Awesome.
